Handmade Collectable Artist Bears

About Me  (Skip It, It's Boring!)

Ugh what a mug shot!  I was told that people wanted to know what bearmakers look like and on the whole I can promise you...they look better than this.  So this is me, in January 2007 on my honeymoon in Edinburgh...lovely place...lousy weather.  The first thing you'll notice is the coat, it's mock sheepskin and it's warm,  they did no favours for Del Boy on only fools and horses either and yes, I am every bit the derranged hippy chick that I look.

If you've not fell asleep in your coffee yet, I'll go on to say that I'm 37 and live with my lovely husband Kevin.  A poor and tortured soul who comes to fairs with me and usually does all of the birth certificates that come with the bears, sometimes the chauffering, helps with the stall and stands there while I vanish for hours yapping to fellow bearmakers.  He asks for nothing except cake and the odd trip to the loo. I couldn't do any of this without him, but don't tell him or I'll set the bears on you! He is the man of my dreams and I think for that alone (and because it will irritate him)  Here's a photo of him!  Bless him he is so happy with his cake!

I also live with Abby (my step-daughter) and Gryffin (my youngest son).  My eldest lives away with his Nan so I'll wave at Jarreth and tell him Mummy hasn't forgotten to embarrass him! (Behave all of you or your photo's will be up here!)  Apart from that there are my three dogs, two of which are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and my rat dog Tallulah.  I'm told my bears look like my pets, which is better I suppose than being told I look like them!  Other than that I collect bears, make bears, collect minerals, believe in most of the hippy stuff from the viewpoint of Darren Brown and perhaps David Wells, love superhero movies, can't stand chick flicks, read too much, have a love of animals and a fear of dolls coming to life.

I'd just like to add here because this is important, bearmaking hasn't made me shed loads of money, but it has made a few very good friends and they are worth a hell of a lot.  I'm relatively friendly even if I look fairly feral, so if you do see us at a fair, come and say hi, we don't bite...unless of course Kevin hasn't had his cake!

 Peace
